Use DT-1 Foam Filter oil on No-Toil Filters

I noticed No-Toil is making a Screen Removal Kit for the 19-20 YZ 250F. It is considerably cheaper the competitors even with my sponsorship.

I was considering buying he kit and just using regular DT-1 Oil with the No-Toil Filters.

Note: I have used the No-Toil products in the past but I prefer regular oil.

Opinions?

I just use a dremel with a cutting wheel to cut the screen out of the stock cage. 15 minute job.

DT-1 makes an excellent filter too, and 40% off on many holidays. Ditto the Mika products. I've used both for many years on different bikes. Right now I'm running Husky oil/cleaner on DT-1 filters. Works good. Also like the No-Toil products.

I have a few cans of PJ1 spray filter oil - PITA to clean up. Can't seem to find a cleaner that works well on it.

Use OTHG2012 to get 50% off of DT-1 and Mika Metals. It’s good through the end of the year.

Also, don’t use No Toil on DT-1 filters! For some odd reason, NT kills the glue on these filters. I had an issue with mine, talked to a guy at DT-1, and he informed me using NT oil was my problem.

Used the red No-Toil oil for many years, no problems with dt1 filters coming apart.

Straight from DT-1. Doesn’t seem to impact every one of their filters, but enough that they’ve taken notice. It impacted a few of mine with only a couple of uses.

I've been using NoToil on DT1 filters for years and never had any problems with glue or damage to any part of the filter. We have 3 bikes with DT1 and NoToil, so I would think I would have had something? Are you using the NoToil powder cleaner or a solvent?

Also a NT oil/cleaner user with DT1 filters. Maybe if you let the filters sit in the cleaner over night, the filters will come apart, but I've had zero issues and my filters still look brand new

The first three DT-1 filters I bought were great. I used them for two years. It was the second set of filters that I bought that had issues after literally just a couple of uses. The individual I emailed back and forth about this noticed I had NT rim grease in a photo and then mentioned they sometimes, obviously not always, have problems with NT oil and their filters. I’ve always been one to clean and dry my filters right away. I oil them either the day before (green oil) or the day of riding (red oil) and clean and dry them within a day of using them, so they are at no time “soaking” in the oil.

I’m simply passing along the information that company provided to me. They’re by far my favorite filter! They’re an excellent product, regardless of the issues I had.
