time to fire up the pumps and think about watering the 6000 acres we grow. This is our biggest pivot, it stretches a full half mile and covers 460 acres. I have 39 of these suckers and it's tough to keep them all running. But, when they work, it beats the hell out of handlines.

what do you guys grow Wildbill? I see a lot of those units when I travel in S.W. Georgia.
Last year our water table was so low that the state paid the farmers not to use them.
This year the drought has been broken so they will not be needed as much.
When I see them working I always try to figure out how you could design one to work on a moto track.

Sure seems early to be using irrigation already. You wont see the pumps fired up around here until late June. Lots of pivot and straight line aerial rigs in the Brazos bottom.

We mostly grow alfalfa and press then ship it to Japan or Korea. We have two hay presses that keep cranking it out when the orders are up.

There was a moratorium on water rights back in the 80's so no more are sold and our aquifer should hold up.

crash, found a few obsidian points and scrapers the other day, plus a squaw biscuit. Had a little help from some eagles.

coyote pup hunting for a bite last August. We let them live due to the huge amounts of rodents they contain, until around calving time then thin the pack a bit to keep the peace.

5 deer in the front yard when I got home last night. They keep the grass down. Don't own a mower.
