I recently bought a 1992 Ktm 250 mx for 500 bucks off of a guy. I rode it for 2 days and blew it up. Got lucky enough to find a bottom end for it (rod bearing seized) but now I’m having super trouble finding parts. Gaskets to be specific.

I’m not a Ktm buff by any means. Don’t know much if anything about them. I bought it because I thought it was a good deal. My local motorcycle parts store says he can’t get gaskets they’re on back order. I don’t know if the other model of 250s use the same gaskets or anything. I’m skeptical about ordering online because I wouldn’t know if getting the right ones..

aighty,
So what part is the Orings for?

If its for the head, they have changed a fair bit. If your desperate for a quick fix, you could always go full bush mechanic and fill the oring area with exhaust silicon. Bit scary but it does work hahaha

Head, jug, I have to swap the kick start gear off my old bottom end onto the new one so 2 side case gaskets and water pump gaskets

I have an 03, with good bottom end. Piston ate the cylinder. I have pretty much the whole bike. Hit me up if you need any other parts. How much did you pay for the bottom end? If you don’t mind me asking?

Ktmworld.com and their parts mgr Mike will probably know the part numbers off the top of his head. Myself I remember the orings being 0770 prefixes and the gaskets should be 546.300 prefix. If ktm still makes them Mike would know.

Candy posted a few times on here about helping some KTM riders. She got the typical Vitard reception, and I don't think she has posted since. Pinch

There's always KRW in Dayton. Ask for Kirk. They're very familiar with keeping the Austrians running...

500 bucks for 27 yo bike? Isn't that too steep? also considering the reliability of last millenia KTMs...
