i thought new york was going to be in there but no .

germany three (all in the top ten ).
switzerland two .
canada two .
new zealand two .

is it a coincidence that those four countries are known as being very peaceful and are not huge military spenders and power projecters ? not a single "super power" city on that top fifteen list .... interesting .

SF has some dirty spots, plus I think less than a million people live there. Not exactly a giant city.

LA is just as bad. We have some pretty sad 'major' cities.

"the city" is much nicer than "the town" in the bay area.

the last time I was at the Coliseum I bought a shirt off some crackhead in the tunnel to the BART.

It just says, "THE town"

Portland, OR is very nice for a bigger city, although it's not that big.

It's a very laid back city. It's about 20 minutes from Washougal too. My sister lives there, and some friends. I always enjoy visiting.

New York above Seattle on that list, somebody was high when they put that thing together.

It's good to see Wellington and Auckland up on that list. New Zealand is an amazing place. Sydney is a neat city as well. I think it would be an amazing place to live.

NYC is an amazing place if you stick around and know what actually goes on behind the sight seeing bs and shady look of things. There is no place in the world like it.

in historical context it wasn't that long ago, years from now historians will look at today as still being part of the WWI era, thats right WWI, WWII was a result of WWI, the middle east and several of the issues still dogging us today stem from WWI.

SF's a great town. Real cosmopolitan feel with some of the greatest scenery in the world. I love it.

maybe once or twice.

Just curious, have you ever left New York so you can see what a toilet it is?

Why do I get the sneaky suspicion that this first line is a bit of an understatement?

When I was doing CART Indycars, both Vancouver, BC & Portland were among the favorite stops for all the guys on the teams (along with Long Beach & Laguna Seca) The Left Coast rules!

The worst places were Nazareth, PA and Brooklyn, MI

New York City was never meant for the weak, that is for sure. But a toilet, I don't think so. Parts of this city are awesome. Everyone is here and everything is here. Not everyone here is all white or all American, but that's what gives the place character.
If this place was a toilet, would the real estate be so great here. I lease my old 1 bedroom apartment downtown. 790 square feet - not big at all and still collect a $2,950 check a month from a wall street broker. He pays it with a smile cause it's a better price than anything in that part of town.

Real estate is EXPENSIVE in Manhattan, but my no means does it make it a nice place.

Theres a lot more to NYC than Downtown.

Other than Staten Island, most of the other boroughs are dirty slums. The airports are a complete cluster, and the subway is dirty as hell. Streets and traffic are gridlocked, and food and hotel accommodations are expensive (if you even want to bother leaving the hotel in fear of your life). And the weather is crap.

Sure every city has decent areas, but putting NYC on a list of "top quality of life" is a joke. The place is a toilet.

Did Zjbell stop by Lucky Cheng's for a Penis Colada? By the way Zj, thats a man blowing you a kiss in that photo. That's the extent of it, you won't get robbed, raped or shot at by this person.

Zjbell - Get real dude. The crime rate is at an all time low here. You fear for your life when you visit because you fear what you don't know. A lot of great places to see in those slums. Trust me, Hispanic, Black and Asian people aren't really mean once you get to know them. Honestly, you may enjoy their company if you choose to give them a chance. The quality of life is just fine here. Just stay on the left coast and plan your next trip to Seattle where the weather is always awesome.

Check these lists from The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report
Have you ever considered moving to Alaska?

States with highest suicide rates

1. Alaska
2. Nevada
3. New Mexico
4. Montana
5. Wyoming
8. Colorado

Areas with lowest suicide rates

1. District of Columbia
2. New York
3. Massachusetts
4. New Jersey
5. Rhode Island

Somehow I can believe your dumbass lived in NYC.

Why don't you still live in the toilet?

If it's so great you should move in with your stock market butt-buddy. You can talk about how great NY is in your 500 sq. foot rat infested closet. Maybe instead of rent you could get him to throw in the reach around free of charge.
