good stuff i thought. might be time to try gear oil. i'd be curious how a silicon based spray would compare.

I use chain wax now and none of it flings off. Can't really complain about how long my drive trains last. The ERT2 and supersprox seem to last me 80-90 hours which is fine with me

O-ring chain and supersprox with a little super clean just to make it look like i care once in awhile. Lasts forever

I run o-ring chains and maybe put some WD-40 to stop rust. They last a long time this way and don't make a huge mess.

Everyone has 5-15 litres each time you drain your engine oil, and around 3/4 each time you change your 4 strokes oil.
I use all my old engine oil because gear oil just stinks like shit. Always has, not sure why.

Keep in mind, a 10w40 engine oil is the about the same viscosity as an 75w90 gear oil +/- a little bit.

You're lubing a chain out in the dirt. Or even if its the street, there is still plenty of road dust being tossed across it.

If you're stuck on new oil just use chainsaw bar oil. It even has some anti fling/tack additive in it.
5-10 bucks a 4 liter jug.

Gear oil stinks...like really smells bad and it lingers. You use gear oil on a chain and put it in an enclosed trailer and your trailer will stink.

People laugh at my ketchup bottle with diff oil and tungsten disulphide powder mixed in.

I do something similar with my wheel bearings but combined with grease. My wheels spin for ages.

Yes the chain wax traps some dirt but also SEALS FOR THE DAY.

I can’t remember the last time I lubed the chain on my bike?

Primary Drive Gold X ring with steel sprockets...almost 80 hours on them still going strong...I’ve only had to adjust the chain once (right after the first ride).
