buying a bike need help

I'm looking at buying a new bike and lost in what to get been riding since I was 5 and I'm pretty decent at riding I've been on 250fs for 2 and a half years I've been on a 2003 yz250f, a 2014 crf250r and now a 2018 crf250r which I don't like at all as its not exciting to ride I feel like I need to upgrade but I'm clueless I am 16 this year in a couple of months and I'm 6ft tall and I weigh about 84-90 Kgs 187- 198 lbs I've tried to get advice but nothing has been helpful please help if you can thanks
I also have ridden biggerbikes than a 250 theses being a 300 2 stroke and a 350f also where I’m from there’s isn’t different grades for 450 classes there’s only one 450 class and a 125/250 and I’m no sure about a 450 as it’s all older guys who have a heaps of expercicnce and I would get smoked

get the 450 if you been riding since your 5 you should have skills to ride 450 i dont know what kind riding your doing but most old guys you should smoke with your 11 years ridding under you and your a lot younger then old vets but some old pros are still very fast if that who you riding with

KTM/Husky’s are expensive but they last and hold their vslue if well taken care of. 350 especially do because they are literally the best of both for a lot of racers who want light but powerful. Next best would be a YZ250/450F as they are amazing bikes as well but dont really hold value well in the long run.

its your maintenance habits how hard you ride , what kind of conditions you mostly ride in or do you ride in sand hard pack all those factors have tremendous effects on how long before bike clapped out ...if your a rider who is pro level you can expect a bike to really last about 3 months before it needs overhaul ...if you a rider who trying to save your motor and bike you ride smart not over clutch it or over rev the motor in the air 250 F not going to last as long as a 450 bottom line is motocross bikes need a lot maintenance its almost for every hr you ride you have about that in maintenance and repairs part change tires ect ...i been doing this sport for over 30 yrs. they are money pits bikes all the bikes are pretty good now well made

you just need to makeup your mind no one can do it for you. decide if you want 250/350/450 then pick a color.

At your age and stature a 250 2 stroke would be a good choice. You havent rode enough to develop any bad habits that you couldnt reverse at this point and you can gain some very valuable riding techniques by owning a 2t. Like carrying momentum, rear wheel steering etc. 450 is too much imo and even though i like the 350 it can wait till you gain some more skills etc. Plus a used 250 2t can be had for a decent price as well. Good luck on your search bud!

Motocross I can’t imagine being on a 450f at 16. I think a 250f will do just fine. I ride green but I think they all make a good bike anymore.

31 years old 165lbs used to be decent but am slow now due to being out of the sport to long and just getting back into it. I’m riding Grand Prix (mix of moto and trail) have a Kx250f but wishing I would have went 350xcf-w and electric start ?
