It's already common knowledge that that year bike was oversprung. I am a 155 pound rider and according to the updated charts and my suspension folks (KREFT) I should be running a 42n rear spring to hit 4-1/4 or 105-107mm sag. Still couldn't hit race sag and had to go with a 39n spring to do it.. and I barely hit it with that; I'm talking very little to 0 preload. They have no record of anyone else with that bike having this problem and probably think I'm crazy. Has anyone else experienced this problem

Is the shock calving stock from the factory?

Is the linkage all greesed and torqued correctly?

I know that 165 pound and a 45 gives you no preload and ~100mm sag on a 350 so you should be close to what you are saying with 39. I assume you are in full gear when you measure sag, and measure according to the book?

Have you thought about using a different company for a spring? I couldn't get it right one time with a spring I forgot the brand and then I put a race tech on it and it was a little softer and I was able to put some preload in it.
