1983 YZ250K clutch cover

Hey all, looking for some info here. I have an '83 YZ250K I'm working on here, and was told to upgrade to an '84 250L clutch case as the waterpump seal was an upgrade. Checking the part numbers, it appears that the '84, '85, '86, '87, '88, and '89 clutch cases all have the same part number. Can anyone confirm this.

Just did some more checking, and I was wrong. It appears the '88-'89 years are different. So will the '84-'87 cases be an exact fit?

Think i read in a (wrench reports) thread here it was a common upgrade. 84/85
