Actually, read the words carefully. He avoided contravening the holy TFS's theory.

"COMPRESS THE SUSPENSION: Compressing the suspension by sitting down helps you to go further and higher off the jump. It gives you the lift that you need when compared to standing up and hitting the same jump. For some reason, sitting down gives you that little extra oomph."

He didnt say once the spring bounced you up, he jsut said compressing the suspension helps you go higher. Which it does, since that's what a seat bounce is.

I always thought once the suspension bottoms and starts to rebound, you extend your legs, taking all your bodyweight off the motorcycle. Your legs are really the springs that throw you further. Like a bunny hop.

More weight on the tire = better traction = more drive. Plus a nice kick in the right direction doesn't hurt.

By compressing the suspension, the incline of the face of the jump isn't absorbed by the suspension, thus you get more upward trajectory.

vs

Not compressing the suspension, much of the incline of the face of the jump is absorbed the by suspension so you don't get as much upward trajectory.

And, by compressing the suspension, you get more traction, when the throttle is twisted

So maximum upward trajectory, maximum traction, the forward motion created by twisting the throttle is focused (upward and outward).

But I"m not a rocket scientist...so I'm probably way off...

Hint, by compressing the suspension you move the weight of your body and the trajectory angle.
