Preparing for a 2 week, 6000km rally. How??

Question for any experienced rally folks.

I will be racing in the Intercontinental Rally 2019 (january 2019). It is from Spain to Dakar. 6000km. 2 weeks non-stop.

I am a NOVICE. I raced in the 2018 Senegalese Rally season. This was my first time competing. And I've only been off-road riding for about 18 months now. The longest rally was a 3 day, 1000km "long weekend" race we had.

So, how do I get prepared for a 2 week long race?

Carry way more water than you think you need, thats my advice from my Baja 500 experience. Dehydration is not something you want to tangle with. You'll need to be prepared for increased heart rate for long periods of time, cycling is great for that, but make sure your arms and core get good workouts too, all endurance based, start small, work your way up.

Appreciate both replies/advice. I've posted the same on the adventure site.
I'm an avid lifter but now I'm trying to change to lower weights and higher reps. Plus add in running, cycling and rowing. Core is key too. I figure since i don't have the riding skills like a more experienced off roader I will end up using my muscles more than I will use proper technique... ugh.

Here in the Senegal rallies we have a big mix of MX and enduro riders.
It is kind of funny. There are these super fast champion MX riders that I end up passing while they are doing circles trying to figure out where the waypoint is. And then when I entered an MX race they all pass me at every corner where I either was paddling it or picking the damn thing up!

Dont recall any 2 week races in the US, its a world of difference from Baja (which is its own kind of crazy) .

Every event has its things, long distance stuff is specialised.
