I've bought a Lectron 38HV model from a member. It has the 4-2 metering rod.

In your experience, what are the best settings for an unmodified YZ250 engine (w/ aftermarket exhaust)? I only do woods with back-country roads, so I'll hit the rpm spectrum, but will typically run at lower RPMs.

Reading online, it seems the 4-2 rod at 2.020” is what is recommended. However, wanted to know what others have found works well (0-3000' and 40-90F).

I picked one up as well. Mine has a 4-2M in it. I'll write up a review a bit later

Lectron's make 'old man' power. Soft down low with no hit into the mid/top.
I've been running Lectron's since 2013 in my woods bikes and can never get is crisp and lively feeling as a PWK carb.

However, since I'm woods riding and trying to squeeze 80+ miles from a 3/gal tank I'm okay with that. They probably pull a little more up top vs. a standard carb, but honestly whose spending that much time at WOT. I wouldn't consider the Lectron a performance upgrade at all. It's a fuel mileage and ease of jetting upgrade only.

From my research, it really doesn't seem like a worthwhile upgrade for motocross (so vitalmx may not be the best forum to discuss it!), as I feel most people going to a track are going to be able to easily jet for the elevation/temperature, and they won't benefit from the mileage or anything - especially on a 125 where you're WOT!

I got mine as I only ever ride woods, and I don't want to deal with the jetting and enjoy the increase in mileage.

I have about 10 hours on my TMR YZ295 with MX porting and Lectron carb. I think I have the 5-2 metering rod in mine. I am a Vet A rider and love this thing. The bike is smooth, crisp and and incredibly fast. I really can not understand why anybody would have anything bad to say about these carbs. They are awesome!
