16-17 KTM Conversion been tried?

I have the previous body style KTM 300 and love the bike but would love to have the new style scooter but that just isn't in the cards right now. Has anyone attempted to convert/cut and put the new plastics on the old style bike? I know the front fender will fit but everything else looks very different as the frame etc was all changed.

May be possible with a lot of work. The frames are considerably different though. What would be dope for a refresher, would be a throwback graphics set. Red, white, and blue theme on white plastic. Like the '87's.

All the mounting spots are different except the front fender and front number plate.

There was a French company that did this very early on when the new models were released. They basically converted 2016 enduro models to the '17 ones (plastic-wise) one year beforehand. However, they only did this on new bikes and didn't sell conversion kits. I can't even remember the name of the company right now. But in the pics it looked spot on, so it can be done.

Here is the bike your talking about. Think they moded the subframe a little, and they made a radiator brace whit new mounts

2016 500exc converted to 2017 plastics

Is it possible to rack your brain? I’m about to do this exact conversion on the same bike, I’ve collected tank, seat, subframe and airbox and plastics is there anymore I’m missing? What brackets do I need to make and does the subframe line up?
