I read these posts about Chad is never going to get respect unless he beats Bubba straight up. Well!! I believe this is going to be the second year in a row he's beat Bubba straight up for a SX championship. Last year, Stewart lined up at Anaheim 1 and injured himself out of title contention. This year he hasn't injured himself, but he's losing the SX championship all the same to Reed. I think people seem to confuse Smarts as being a slower rider, but personally I believe if Chad had no regard for his health and safety and wasn't looking at the big picture ( AMA SX championship ), he could easily post just as fast or faster lap times than Stewart does on a consistent basis, BUT!!! at the risk of crashing himself out of title contention. I think bashing on Reed and saying he's not as fast is just a way of Stewarts fans making themselves feel as if somehow his AMA SX title is un-deserved. There's no doubt that Stewart is one of the fastest and most talented riders to ever swing a leg over a dirt bike, BUT!! Chad Reed and Ricky Carmichael have both proved that there's more to winning a championship then going balls out all the time and riding over your head and that's why Bubba will never equal McGraths and RC's records, because he keeps forgetting that he has to be in it to win it, BUT!! I'll agree, he sure is fun to watch.
Oh, Jesus............what a moron!!!!!

Great job on all those 2nd's Chad and being happy to wait for a mistake.

From RacerX..

When you got out front, and he got by you in the S-turns, it seemed like you were struggling with line choice through there...

Yeah, I was just undecided on what I was doing, I think. From the Heat and the main event, the lines just changed a little bit, and I was sleeping a little bit and didn’t choose my lines quick enough. Once he got by me, it was good... I mean, he kind of put it up the inside of me, and I didn’t know he was that close – I knew he was close, but I didn’t expect him to pass me right there – so I kind of was like, “Whoa!” [Flinches out of the way.] But it was good. I just kind of stuck on his wheel and tried to go with him, and just sit there and see what happens.

It seemed like you stayed pretty much the same distance behind him for a long time, and then he stretched out a little bit right before he ended up crashing.

Yeah, actually, right where he crashed, I made a pretty big mistake and blew that whole section, and he yarded me pretty good – probably about two seconds. I think he was a 45 [second lap] and that lap, I was like a 48, so I was a little bummed on that. And then it was just kind of tough. It just stayed the same after that, and the turn before the finish line kind of took me a while to figure out a line there as well. The line he was taking was awesome, but for some reason I wasn’t comfortable hitting it, so I had to change it up so I felt comfortable. After that, I really started gelling with it and going with it. I knew we were getting deep into the lappers, and I was hoping they would hold him up and I’d be able to get back on him, but he made a mistake, and it made it easy on me.

Maybe Yamaha should make an automatic transmission for bubba...You would think after several years as a Pro he could keep his bike in gear. Then again you would think he could stay upright too...lol

So you spend twice as much money on a crap bike that can't perform. Bike-$10,000 TRYING to buy an image-$10,000. Congradulations on your good decisions.

EVERYONE on the track can go faster, at the expense of crashing. Crashing has already cost Stewart more titles than he'll win the rest of his career. Write it down and remember it.

I think Yamaha should make a special tranny for James: 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

James and Chad are so close in speed it's barely debatable. If you check both riders fastest lap from every race of the season they are within a few tenths of second of each other.

At this point it's pure speculation to second guess what Reed was thinking when James clicked off 7 straight. The bottom line is once he lost the points lead he raised his game and got it back.

I have no idea why you asshats want to put an asterisk next to Reed because bubba can't keep his bike on two wheels. The method of calculating the Series champion has NOT changed in a very long time.

Rightly said.

I fail to see how you can bag someones strategy when its working!!

JS fans seem to be just trying to save face because they spewed too much shit, now when it looks like Reed might win it, they do the classic lets change the rules to suit my beliefs NOT pehaps my beliefs need adjusting. Funny stuff really.

it's obvious James can't run Reed's pace with out crashing, he should back it down and wait for Reed to make a mistake. just sayin
