The cartel doesn't kill surfers. K38 and Todos Santos for life.
Hasn’t happened yet, they did a shooting at Palmilla on the beach. Or sprayed the beach. I know people who were there.
I know people who were in Puerto Nuevo when The Felix group came in to eat. The place was shut down, nobody in or out. That was quite awhile ago.
Granted, there are still good people, but there are also many areas to avoid. In the 80’s Todos Santos the wave was Ok, the town not so much. They didn’t like gringos there.

Totally agree. My post was kind of sarcastic but it's hard to interpret without verbal and nonverbal cues lol. I used to go down there all the time but times have changed. I still go down but it's always with a large group.

I actually remember hearing about the Feix Cartel eating in Puerto Nuevo. I would of been frightened!

On a side note, the food is so good in Mexico! And I'd say most people have good intentions. Fortunately, I don't have any bad things to say but I have heard many stories.

We will all be dealing with "Tiajuana"-style enrichment in a decade or two. Thank to our awesome politicians who believe walls and papers are only for racists.

I have a very left-leaning sister, so I told her about it as a cautionary tale and she was saying I should have intervened. I explained why I couldn't and maybe it taught her a lesson about what happens when only the criminals have guns and the cops are corrupt as hell.

On one of the other days I went to take a picture of some cops that were standing there with AKs and my buddy who has been down there before yelled at me and said they would probably shoot me.
so you would have intervened if you had a little pocket pistol? bullshit.

Can’t you Atleast call it in anonymously to a Mexican government agency ? Or some type of investigation unit ?

I don't know. I couldn't even tell you the name of the bar that we were at. I could maybe look it up. I've been checking Google for reports of missing girls, but as I do that I just go further down the rabbit hole with articles talking about how there are countless people missing in Mexico and a lot of unmarked mass graves.

It's crazy to think that you can actually see downtown San Diego after you cross the border into Mexico, but it is third world over there. It must be just so corrupt. We spend millions every day trying to fix the middle east, but nothing is done to help our neighbors to the South. That is so crazy to me.

Mexico exports little oil compared to the middle East.
They export plenty of drugs, to America.

And a stable Mexico would severely impact that flow of cash & drugs. There are plenty in America that are profiting off of it and do not want to see it change.

The answer has always been simple, legalize everything.

What's crazy to me is that people go down there to get shitfaced drunk. .......You can do that here.

Those 2 girls that stumbled off? They're dumbasses. And who typically are the customers of human trafficking? Western nations. It's like being upset that Mexican cartels smuggle drugs into America... they're simply supplying DEMAND.

You go to Mexico for the food & weather. Enjoy the beach. If you do that, like anywhere else, it's pretty hard to get yourself in trouble.

Treat the place like your local college bar and of course shit's got the potential to go sideways. TJ has NEVER interested me at all. I dont see what the allure is. I had a buddy try to take me down there once, for the hookers. I looked at him and said there are WAAAY better looking hookers in Newport Beach. So again, what's the allure? Is it because the place has this reputation for being lawless? Isnt that the #1 complaint also?

I just dont get it. The entitlement Americans have in other countries is so weird. Maybe it's because we portray ourselves as the "worlds police" that we think we own everywhere we set foot.
