so this has been a pretty hard year for us. (Thanks GW) anyhow I get home last night about 9:00, completely wiped out.. My wife hands me some papers and says it's an early birthday gift. It's 2 tickets out to LA to see my sister. Damn cool of her to do that. She says keep looking. She has 3 tickets to the VIP section for Glen Helen this year.
Now that may not be a big deal to you guys in Cali but for a guy in Chicago this is freakin huge.
So since I've never been to GH only dreamed of it any pointers?

The track has some new additions (another hill) the start is going to be a lot different, and add better racing.

Very cool storyYZVET... sounds like she has put some thought into this!
Also, try to walk up one of the hills (from the infield) just to get an idea of how steep they are. I went up one level and I was done.

Yer gonna be blown away when you see the GH track in person. Whatever you do, don't be in a hurry to leave after teh final moto, and you'll be fine. Yeah, bring some water too, and lots of money for the souvenirs and gear. Actually, since you'll be in VIP, I think they'll provide all you can drink there. Lucky guy.
Everyone has covered most of the tips. I haven't done it for a couple years, but can you still park and shuttle in from the other side of the park? I did that one year, and it made a huge difference.
Also, make sure you walk around and check out the track from different vantage points.
Bring Plenty of Sunscreen and hat etc.. You will end up looking like a lobster if not.
