Where was all the press at press day today for the New Orleans SX this weekend?

Here are some photo's from today. I'd almost say exclusive, but one other photog showed up shooting for Holeshot Magazine.

You can go to my site for all the ones I posted (too much downrezzing here!), there are also candid portraits of the guys too.. Here's a couple of Reed. He was really having fun and showing off.

Izzi:

All three, CR, MA, and Nico Izzi:

And for BobbyM, some Alessi:

Nice pics, like the one of them all on the triple - looks like they were sizing up a jump.

The jump they are on is a reverse dragon back and only CR figured it out, once. They all took a rough hit, casing a small single right after the downside of the dragon back. That will be an interesting obstacle come Saturday.

MA did put on a few pounds, but it looked like it just made him "fill out" so to speak.

It is N.O. Maybe all the photogs were down on Bourbon Street. I went there twice last year...it's a fun city to say the least.
Great photos!

Right on, thanks for posting the pics.

It would be tough for most of the regulars to take two or three extra days a week to come in early for press day.

For example, I normally fly early Friday morning, stay Friday night, shoot all day Saturday, work on photos and the race report overnight, and leave Sunday morning to get home sometime Sunday mid-day.

To get there in time for press day, I'd probably have to leave Wednesday each week, and then get home Sunday. That'd leave you Monday and Tuesday to get everything else done.

That is some schedule! I didn't mean the regular guys like you, but other local press people. There just wasn't any but us 2 guys. Then I was thinking, it's probably old hat anyway for most.

They were done with most of the track, just not the start are or the part that crosses it.

Here's the direct gallery link: motoximages- N.O. Press day gallery

There are larger track photo's there.

No, he's sponsored by Alpinestars for gear and boots. It's just kind of hard to see the logo on the front of his jersey in that angle. One Industries is the team's graphic sponsor.

That is, unless you're just referring to the crazy design....then I'll feel like an idiot, haha.

ya, ain't no friggin way the series regular photogs, etc. could get there unless it's in their backyard. I think (and I've often wondered) what these things are designed for, and it must be the local media. A poor turnout by them is an indication that a poor turnout by the local fans may be in store as well...

I agree. I don't know if there will even be 35,000 there. A cryin shame, especially with KW and Matt Lemoine from Baton Rouge. The local tv crew wanted to focus on KW, but he wasn't going to be there. I had to tell them that Matt was from BR and he was there. They did an interview with him, but didn't air it. Punks.

Gotta face facts. Louisiana is a football state, LSU and the Saints rule everything. Although the Hornets were selling okay.

IF it wasn't for the new stadium in Dallas going up, I doubt they would have came to N.O. anyway. Teams like to come.. it's New Orleans!....just the fans don't come to the show.

Thanks Dennis for the invite, but I'm going to my real job tomorrow, UNO. But will be there Saturday, if I can gain access, I'll look ya up.

That's so gay. I just left neW Orleans today at 5. I couldn't stay for the supercross because I am heading back south this Sunday. Whew, lots of driving fro New Orleans to New York then back to Georgia. But, I hope there is a good turnout. That city is shot except for the FRench Quarters.
