Hi I have a 2007 Honda crf250 really really I mean really hard to start when started runs great the guy I bought it from said the valves are perfect it has spark I'm thinking carb settings are out of whack but not sure can anyone shed some light and help me out maybe help me get the carb back to factory settings anything would be greatly appreciated thanks
First, make sure that your valves are in spec for sure. When I bought mine it was incredibly difficult to start, but the valves were in spec. So, we had the carb completely rebuilt and boy what a world of difference that made. Started 2nd or 3rd kick every time. Then, we started running vp (i think t4? Escapes my mind right now) and 93 octane 50/50 and that pretty much got rid of the lean bog that made it very hard to ride down low. Give it 2 slow kicks, then pull the throttle 3 times and kick. Starts first try for me that way.
