Have a stock manual at home, as well as an aftermarket. Any specific info you need? I can dig it out for you.

Ring gap specs and I read something about needing to drill forged pistons but not cast ones?
End gap is .016 to .022 thou. Metric is .40 to .55 mm.

Pro X engine parts are the way to go. They are the OEM supplier parts that are re badged under the Pro X name.
+1 for ProX

Congrats on a great model bike!

Nice! Since those are OEM parts, the piston wont need to be drilled correct?

I am not sure if you are a Facebook user but if you are, join "CRs only group" If you go to the group area upper left on the computer page (Not on your phone App) you will see a files section. There are PDF versions of many of the Honda shop manuals available for download. We have the 96' manual there. It is a nice PDF copy and you can print the whole book or just what you are working on. Check it out here.https://www.facebook.com/groups/771937119520313/ If you are not a Facebook user then it is worth it just for this.

I swore off Facebook years ago but I'll be making an exception for this. That will be invaluable, thanks man!

The Pro X pistons are typically ART brand which is the OEM supplier to Honda... they shouldn’t need lube holes drilled for the ex port bridge. BUT FOLLOW THEIR INSTITUTIONS THAT COME WITH THE PISTON.
Yes I would start with the stock jetting in the oem Honda carb. It has the correct slide cut and should be very close... I haven’t made the switch myself yet but there’s quite a bit of info about it via a google search. It’s on my to do list this winter!

I made one last night and requested the group. When I try and access the page it says content not available. Is there anyway you can email me the PDF?

Don't use my link. It is connected to my facebook page. Go to the CR's Only group then look for files tab. I have circled it on the page. In the files are a bunch of PDF manuals. If that still does not work Ican try to upload it to my drop box or something. It is too big to email.

Drilling pistons is if you have a forged piston and an exhaust bridge as often found on 125s. The 96 does not have a bridge, so no drilling no matter what piston you use.
