Tonight they said that they felt the riders would not get up before the lead riders came around so they threw a red flag for saftey. If riders had one way radios they could be told that there was a yard sale in the area and could work their way through it. I
know radios were banned for cost reasons in the 80's and at that time that was probably true but now everyone has them so why not use them? A radio could be bought for around $600 that would work.
Reduced lapper problems and landed on riders. I think one way communication would be the way go so that you don't get too crazy with it and yes I know you need to have a spotter (which most do at a Supercross and of course it would be hard at a National but anything is better than nothing. The sanctioning body( FIM or MX Sports )could over ride everyone and alert riders for serious incidents.

It is because there are concerns that spotters would tell their riders how to block somebody trying to pass them or team tactics could come into play.
With the favoritism shown to factory teams they might be the only ones that are allowed a vantage point for spotters.
I think if all the riders had the same frequency and only a safety manager could relay information on a locked frequency there certainly could be some positive applications to keep the racing safe and to do away with excuses as to why riders do not slow down enough in areas where there might be a safety issue.
Personally, I don't like the idea, but it's worth considering.
FOR YRS.............
I think likewise it could help.
Makes sense to me, yet?
To improve anything 1 must try.
You at least have to try.
Many times more "hot air" is expelled
chatting about it all than doing anything at all!
Go figure!
For me, "less wind, more progression & onwards"!
But........, saying "Go figure" seems more the norm,
so again,
"Go figure!"
Dave O.
but maybe that's just me, I'm the type that can't even listen to music while I ride...so maybe I'm the odd one.
i think they should atleast try it.
