Just my 2 cents worth but I have only worn Sidi's since 2001 (MX, Hare Scrambles, Enduro).........great quality and superior ankle support. I wont consider buying anything but the Sidi.

If you break your talus (as I have done as well), no boots are going to prevent that. The cause of the injury is an extreme impact to your ankle in which the cushion of boots will not absorb.

I broke my talus in new crossfire 2's however still trust my ankles/foot in the crossfire 3's.

As others have mentioned, the highest offering from Fox, Sidi, Astar, Gaerne will not prevent a talus injury. period.

Anyone have any experience with the tech 8 RS? I’ve got a pair of crossfire 2’s right now I’m pretty happy with but they’re getting pretty worn and I always loved the original tech 8 before they went to that tech 8 lite setup so I was thinking of trying them

Edit: not necessarily just pertaining to ankle support, just general experience with them, I just didn’t want to start a new thread

Current boots are tcx pro 2.1 and my next pair will be the tcx comp eco. I’ve had sg10 and tech10 and neither were stiff enough in the ankle for my fucked up ankles
