However, if they think it will cause confusion...like with the absence of semis...they may just go heats and lcqs. Prob be easier than also including semis. I could see that happening. And maybe new point system as well. I kinda doubt that though.
What if Milestone can't(because of legal reasons) make the 2016-2018 bike and therefore Kawasaki doesn't want Grant and Tomac in the game on the old platform?
Just a thought.
Edit: I was wrong, i went back and looked at some of the gameplay and i saw the 2016-2018 KXF. That leaves us at the DLC theory as the most likely scenario. It would be a huge surprise if Factory Kawasaki is not included in the license(i can't see any reason why they wouldn't be included).
Who knows they might have a special role in the game as part of the career mode or something and Milestone just hasn't unveiled it yet. Doubtful but never know.
In the MXGP games the MXdN is included in it and is not a DLC so I don't think that the MEC will be a DLC. I think it'll be included in the game at launch.
It'll be weird if Tomac and Grant are not included but not really the end of the world. At least not for me since I never play with the in game riders. Pretty certain most people play as themselves.
Wait and see I guess.

SMX cup was DLC in MXGP3 so i expect that MEC is DLC in this supercross game.
Besides, why would I want to play as someone else? I'll use some of your words. To me that is unrealistic. I can't play as someone else as I can't physically change bodies and cloning humans isn't reality as of yet lol.
Had Tomac won the 2017 SX title I could see it make sense only because it would allow you to play as Eli with the number 1 as oppose to the number 3. Playing as Eli with the number 1 in a Monster sponsored game would make sense when you think of it as unlocking them via achievement.
I'm sure there's a reason behind it and I'm sure we'll eventually find out why they weren't included or if they were included via a special role.
Just look up how much money Grand Theft Auto 5 has made off those micro transactions alone. It's really easy to see why they all do it. The online portion of gaming is big business. I can't say I blame them but personally I miss playing single player games that have a really good story mode.
Speaking of online I think this is officially the first MX game that has online seasons. Not exactly sure how that will workout. Sitting there playing 17 rounds straight will make for a very long day of playing. Maybe you'll have to play 1 round every Friday at 9pm or something similar.
Pit Row
Edit: I'm speaking about the MXGP series, specifcially MXGP3 when talking about the rider choice online and the online championships.
Qualifiers, heats... everything. This will be the first time ever in any SX console game that we will be able to replicate the entire day and night's event in all 17 rounds plus Monster Cup.
Am I the only one here? I just don't get all the fuss. I feel like some people want the game to play itself for Gods sake.
