Got a little bit done tonight, parts shouldn't be far away

Linkage, swimgarm and shock are all installed

Rear master cylinder

Just waiting on the head stem bearings to start the front end. I've also got some black excel rims for the wheel set. I'm going to try out a Galifer 270mm oversized front brake, see if it, along with the stainless steel braided brake line, can sort out the soft-ish front brake. That's about all until the parts rock up

The oversized rotor and SS line will make a HUGE difference. I would also see about converting to a Honda master cylinder and brakeline routing if you can.

I'm not too heavy on the front, I will see how this setup goes and then make a judgement from there

Parts arrived!

Got a few bits hooked up tonight

Still got a few more to go on. Also gotta get the wheel set done, not looking forward to unlacing then lacing the new rims up, but I know it will be worth it!

Unlaced the front tonight, managed to avoid damaging any spokes

The black excels look so much better and I'm glad I went with them. The 270mm oversized rotor looks great too

Love this build. Just started my own YZ125 build and this was very inspiring. Good work!

I've been looking through your thread. Looks like you've got a good plan and a half decent starting point! They're great fun to work on

Thanks man, yeah my starting point is beat but since I'm planning on changing most parts and spending a lot of hours on it I don't mind too much. On top of that it was hard finding one at all. I also kind of like the idea of fixing a "dead" bike up instead of "f&%¤g up" a mint one Wink

Anyways, this is about your bike and I will for sure follow your thread, very cool so far!

So I got the rear wheel unlaced when I ran into some trouble. The rear wheel I ordered was an 18 inch, I need a 19. I also ordered a 14 tooth front sprocket, needing a 13. In my haste and excitement, I accidentally ordered these wrong parts. BTO are being really helpful so far, and hopefully the parts can be exchanged for the correct ones. So a slight hold up but it should get a bit smother here on out

Took some measurements tonight, out of curiosity. It would be nice to know total weight savings all round but I didn't have the bike weighed last time it was complete

JT 49t steel rear sprocket:

Renthal 50t TwinRing aluminium rear sprocket:

Pretty nice save right there

Had to tap out a few threads that had a thick powder coat over them, other than that I've just been working on finer details, like cable routing and cleaning up bolt heads

Got the airboot off of the old airbox. It's ready to go onto the 2015- airbox for the re styled plastics kit.

Build has been really slow lately, I fractured a wrist and have been off work. Once I pay return shipping my replacement rim and other little bits will be on their way

I have a little question for anyone with experience with the arc flex lever and nissin master cylinders, I'm having trouble with the fitment. I can't seem to get the push rod in behind the roller and I can't help but think something's wrong, can anyone help

Bummer mate, I forgot how or if I had any troubles with my ARC lever on my yz 250. I just put one on my yz125 but I've got a 2014 crf master cylinder on there for improved braking

I'm at a bit of a loss with what to do, it seems the push rod is just way to long to sit in behind the roller, I'm starting to think it's the wrong lever

FRESH! Whats up man, bike is looking great! I am in the middle of an 06 yz 125 build myself. Just got the frame/sub/swingarm back from PC. I am looking for the small black cover for the linkage/shock hole on the swingarm. The stock is gray and just doesn't jive with the new color scheme. If you happen to find one let me know and Ill do the same. Thanks

I'm in the same predicament dude! I was thinking of just spray painting they stock grey coloured units black. Of course it would look a million times better if it was a black plastic from manufacturer, but I don't know where to find any!

Dye them in a sauce pan with RIT Dye.

They make a black color called "graphite" that can be found at any walmart and makes it dark black.

You can do your ignition cover as well as the front brake cable guide to turn them dark black.

I can post pictures of how they'll turn out if you'd like?

I thought the same thing. The roller is a very tight fit
