Now I have a shitty memory but I swear the last I heard the kid had cancer??? Did I make that up? I was surprised to see him racing.

He did, but he's been down here in Texas riding and I think is moving down here. He is doing great and looks good, especially after what he has been through!

I was surprised to see Cody at Atlanta. I knew he was back riding again but didn't realize he was this far along strength and conditioning wise. It was great to see him make the main!

Watching Cody struggling to walk was one of the sickest moments of my life. Just months before we would line up beside eachother on the gate and have a $10 bet on who would get the holeshot... it was hard to believe that it could happen to someone so close to me, so young, and so innocent. I honestly didn't think we'd ever get to line up at the gate together again, but I hoped and prayed that Cody would win his battle against cancer and survive.

Not even a bald head going through chemo could keep Cody down, and he's truly an inspiration. To come back only a couple years later and make his first Supercross main, it's something you would think only happens in the movies.

It sounds like if Cody can get a few things worked out this week he'll be even tougher next weekend in Indianapolis. Sounds like Shanon Niday has him on a good program and Cody's ready to show everyone what he's got.

I've ridden with Cody during the summer of 08. I'm not surprised at all he's doing as well as he is. He's been FAST for all of 2008 at least. To see him making the main at Atlanta is awesome for sure. This kids pure talent will prevail every time. Great Job!

When I first started riding around 95, we always talked about this little kid (who we thought was spoiled) he showed up to each race with a 60, but it was hauled in the biggest rig we had seen at the races in IA. Chrome Horse it said, we thought, who is this kid that needs that kind of fan fare when a mini van would have plenty to haul the bike. Over the years I realized just how nice the Gilmores are. Now that I have my own kids I want to do the same for them and provide those same oportunites that I thought where excesive in the beginning. I was shocked to hear that Cody had Cancer and I am thrilled that he has not only made it back and able to ride but to qualify for a main is unbelievable. I just happened to be at Atlanta in the industry seating area just above where the bikes enter the track, when I saw a 374 honda roll out of the tunnel, I didnt think it was possible. I had to send a text to make sure that was still Cody's number. My first thought was how great it was that Gilmore was back and going to give it a shot. Then to see him practice and realize that he truely had a chance to qualify was astonishing. A couple guys went down in the heat opening the door but if anyone deserves a break out on the track it is Cody. I can't wait to see what he can has he continues to get stronger and gets more track time. Good Luck.
