Having a issue with my new chain

I don't know what is going On but I put a new vortex rear sprocket on and a new rk 520 standard chain. Just a cheap one.

I go ride and I notice every time I am on the gas in any way the chain is making a really bad rattling noise. I pull off and look at it which I ride slow and I see they under the swing arm the thing is flappping around like crazy. I check to make sure it's adjusted correct and it was then to do another lap. After about another minute my bike just stops and my chain came off. The master link came off I am guessing because of how much the thing was clapping around.

My question is does anyone know why it would be flapping around like that? I have never in my life had this issue before on any chain

Are your chain guides not worn? Check the rear one specifically. What did the front sprocket look like? Did you use same size rear sprocket? a larger one can cause excessive wear on the guides. Lastly check your chain roller below the swingarm. is it still in place?

I had a yz426 that the chain jumped all around on. There was something wrong in the transmission.

If you can provide me with some more information regarding your situation, I will see if I can determine the issue you are running into.

First off, what is the year, make and model motorcycle?
Front and Rear sprocket tooth size along with chain length?
How is the condition of your front sprocket? New, used, hooked teeth, missing teeth etc.?
Do you know the model of the RK Chain you put on your motorcycle? We have a wide variety of chains and some chain may not be suitable for the engine displacement you have on your motorcycle.

Thanks a ton for the reply. I am running sock gearing which I believe is 13/50. The chain length is 114. I left the oem sprocket on it from what I could tell it looked good to me but I will double check it when I have time. The bike is a 2014 kx250f

Oem chain guides on the kawys are junk after about 10 hrs, Replace with a tm designs unit. A little noiser, but bulletproof

Everything looks correct for chain length with the 13/50. Which model RK Chain did you installed on the bike? MXZ4? MXU? The information should be listed on the side plates of the chain if you do not have your order receipt from when you bought the parts.
Do you mind sending me some photos of the setup?

Assuming youre tightening the adjustment bolts and axle, AND you are adjusting the chain correctly, check the chain guides. If theyre fine check what i listed. RK chains are good. I doubt thats the problem

I will send some pics as soon as I get a chance. I was going to actually call today but I have been busy. I appreciate the customer service, the first chance. Get I will go take pics. All I can see online ok the box it says rk 520s. I will check the actual chain

I agree 110 percent and btw I never was blaming the chain at all or thought it was the chain. The only reason I named the brand I bought was to give people a idea what I was working with. I know the chain did not just randomly fall apart or anything like that
