That is a fact. Changing the rules to suit one or two guys isn't reasonable and a waste of resources the AMA can't provide anyways.
Arent the leaders suppose to be the fastest and best riders?? why can they not pass someone who is back in the field usually a couple seconds a lap slower than the leaders. Why should the "back markers" slow to let the leaders pass and possibly lose time on the guy they are trying to catch how is that fair??
Just makes it easier for the front runners and harder for the slower guys, making them look over their shoulders to give way to another rider..........really safe on a SX track.
Lappers should hold their line. It's one of the first things you learn when beggining motoX.
On the holding your line comment another thing you learn early on is focus on whats infront of you not behind you so this rule would go against this theory.
Yes your right. Hold your line and focus on whats in front of you so faster riders can pass with out getting wrecked by a you.
"so faster riders can pass without getting wrecked by a me"..... you seen me race? how do you know i am not one of the guys that has this problem with lappers.
Are you saying you have a problem with lappers? So you admit lappers are a problem?
Does it really matter what place is getting lapped? Your taking the positions to literal. Thats really the main point. I'll say it again. If your a lapper, don't speed up, hold your line, focus on whats in front of you, and don't wreck the leaders who are lapping you!
gotta go man, good talking with ya. : )
Pit Row
I started a thread w/ Scott Kalisch in the title and it was too much for him to resist.
Does it affect the racing? Could. Does that suck? Yes. But, a tuff block on the track is an issue too. I'm good with managing lappers as best as possible and letting them race as long as the safety issues have been considered.
I'd like to hear from JT$ about that. Having been there and dealt with it, is it a concern for the riders?
Now it is possible that (with the points and pace so close, if not the leaders positions....yet) that in the next few weeks it could again be an issue and I would like to see a resolution before either Chad or James get hung up or stalled out or passed.
Remember when James tried to pass Mike Brown on the last lap and fell while RC squirted by? Or Sorby and Reed? Or other examples?
Larry was smart to raise the issue now because if shit goes down in the next few weeks.....Larry will have every right to cry, complain, protest and file a grievance.
It is part of the true racer spirit to let the leaders go and come back and run with them next week,
LB posts here he gets the same discussion anyone else would.
