white smelly guewy stuff in the cooler?

Edited Date/Time 4/20/2017 12:55pm
I opened the cooler lid today on my KTM 450 sxf -17 with 30h on it. It was some white cleyey stuff at the lid and were the lid gets in contact with the cooler. I thought it was ice at the first sight.

Is it some grease from the factory for better sealment or what could it be? It smells like old air from within a tiretube.

The coolant was crystal clear so I dont think it comes from the cooler itself.

What coolant are you using? If you are mixing your own coolant, are you using tap or distilled water?

I believe calcium/magnesium deposits can be kinda soft before they dry out if you are using hard water.

It is the coolant from the factory.. I dont not what they put in there? It didnt taste like water anyway so they got something in it.. But I am going to change the coolant now so what should I use, tap water or destilled?

Distilled. Tap water will cause calcium build up

Yeah, wipe that stuff up and replace the coolant with either a good premix or use distilled water in your own mix. It isn't uncommon for factory to use cheap stuff so they might use premix using hard water for first fill. If it doesn't show up again, then you have your answer.
