I just listened to the Racer X race review and the Pulp MX show and they were talking about the AMA guy that starts the practice just like in any other series and they were discussing that the flag guy has a part in the carnage that goes on in the 250 practices.

This is by far the most ridiculous excuse that i have ever heard. If these riders can't control themselves because a flag guy waves a flag, we have a problem.

The bottom line is that any rider that starts a conflict in practice is an idiot and the flag guy can't possible have a part in the blame pie.

I saw him doing it in practice at Atlanta, almost start them and then stop them over and over

That's when you accidentally on purpose loose grip on the clutch when he jabs the flag and get a kneecap.

The funny part to me is knowing the riders are reacting to him reaching up to his head set to check if Timing and Scoring is ready to time the next practice. But hey blame the flagger---- seems like the best answer to me.

These guys need to take responsibility... in our class we have 3 sessions , same as SX, but only one is for grid position, but in the holding area we line up in championship positions for the first one, then fastest at the front for the next 2, and we file out, and the first lap is at the pace dictated by the fastest guy, who will roll round , and nobody overtakes.. he goes maybe 2 turns from the end of the lap, and everyone else goes when when the guy in front goes, just like the single line restart in SX, we get maybe 5 laps before we hit lappers( we have guys are ex pro, and guys who didnt start racing till they were vets) .. it works, and its all voluntary, no rules , just honour amongst racers.

I don't really see the need to let them take off like a bat outta hell anyway. Like mentioned earlier the guy in the back normally has a clear track. My guess is its all ego driven, just like JS7 these guys wanna win practice even though it don't mean shit.

It's basically a qualifying race as it stands now so why not have free practice then an A race B race and C race then repeat. Take the fastest average time of each racer in the races. Most guys would play nice knowing that if they crash that would kill their average time and need to not crash the next race.
