How does Icy Hot Work?

Doesn't seem all that trans-dermal to me.

Some things can be absorbed slightly into some layers of the skin such as lotions and whatnot and some hormones because they are biologic in nature. The human body does not want things inside it that do not belong.

Isn't this spray a magnesium salt? I'm pretty sure salts cannot penetrate the skin and enter the blood or muscle layers. If it could, wouldn't anyone who entered the ocean be dead from sodium overdoses.
Either way there are things you can put on your skin that have certain effects on your body regardless of the avenues it takes to achieve that effect.

None of these products are ground breaking or new by any means. They are just taking things already done before and selling it to people who race MX and have money to burn.

Reading up on the ingredients of the spray though doesn't sound too promising. I assumed at first it was more along the lines of other muscle soreness applications that do work with menthol and such.

I know how to make home brew transdermal compounds.
However unless you really want to stink its not possible with something like this.

Here is a good rule of thumb. If it works, it's illegal.
If it's legal, you need a prescription.

If it's legal without a script, and works, you can only buy it for your tyrannosaurus monkey mouse or your saber toothed fish frog.
It will also be labeled not for human use, research purposes only. Meaning your test animal is fair game.

All this homeopathic, spray ons, roll ons, all that shit = doesn't do shit.

No, Unless it is something that can be absorbed transdermally.

I can take pellets, dissolve them and absorb transdermally. I know how to do that. The know how has been around for 30 years.

TEL in fuel can pass the skin barrier. Thats why washing filters with certain fuel is bad.

There is nothing in that spray to make it transdermal. At least not listed on the label.

This is what this group does all over the world, with all types of crap. Let them go scam and lie somewhere else.

Instead of re-creating the process, I will leave this link to a previous thread in regards to 4arm strong. Scroll down to almost the last post, of the first page:

http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Fore-arm-strong-is-expand…

It will look like this, with the explanation:

Also, notice Moto-Geeks' involvement in this thread, through defense of the 4arm scam (yes, I know, they are supposed to be competitors) at the same time starting a similar smoke and mirror promotion of other products (online training) in another thread. Even has another poster in cahoots with him. These are all the same tactics, by all the same people, from the same area, etc. All roads lead to fraudulent gorilla marketing and we should all be offended for insulting our intelligence.

Have you ever heard of stuff like equi-block or icy hot? There are countless things you can absorb into your skin that affect joints/muscles that arent hormones.......

Literally none of this stuff is "junk" but stuff people have already been using for awhile now with a moto sales pitch. Even that brace thing may look stupid but it probably has the same idea behind it as using a lacrosse ball which active people have been doing for years on their forearms and various other muscles.

Would I pay $160 for a glorified lacrosse ball that can only be used on your wrist? hell no but you cant really deny that these products do work to some degree as they have been used in other forms for a long time now with atleast some benefit.
I'm only talking about that spray not the tool. Sure I heard about cremes an fluids. It used to be a part of my job actually...
I'm only talking about that spray not the tool. Sure I heard about cremes an fluids. It used to be a part of my job actually and I did some research on it when I was in university. Some of that stuff has a thermal effect but most of that quack remedy has no verifiable effect. Just because there are countless products you can spent your money on doesn't mean they're all effective. But hey, if it works for you, even better. You just can't back it up with science. Maybe there are any alternative facts about that yet?
We don't know how and why gravity works either and I don't know, is it "verifiable "?

I'm not offended at all, your just wrong! If it has a placebo effect, that is the product working for somebody as far as I'm concerned.

I posted that salts absorb thru the skin from info it took me about 10 seconds to find.

Placebo effect can happen. Ive mentioned it. But Im not sure why you quoted me as I never mentioned you. I think you were referring to a conversation you were having with someone else.

My post above outing the scam wasnt based on the supplements but they still would fall into the scam. If someone thinks it works then it does, for them, but that is not the bill of goods being sold.

The proof is in the pudding. Its all a scam and people should know. Why do the OP's always disappear when discovered in these threads?

I dont see how people can even fault aldon for advertising this stuff anyways. If we are talking about promoting "junk" you might aswell just boycott the entire MX industry since it basically revovles around everyone peddling garbage energy drinks.

Its junk if it doesn't work....its a must have if it works for you, placebo or not.

On a separate note, is it patented? Can something that simple be patented?

I was just responding to the idea that we should be offended. I'm not and I don't think we should be offended.

I'm just tired of every time a thread is started for these guys product it's the same thing over and over.

It's what $15? Try if you want, if it works keep buying it, if it doesn't then quit buying it. Nobody goes down the road of developing a product that they only want you to purchase once. They want you to buy it many times, so they believe in it and they think you will also if you give it a shot.

The "your just wrong" idea is that you guys cannot verify or disprove that their product doesn't work. So it's a moot point they can't and you can't.

Its a know fact that "Proprietary Blends and Complexes" mean very little of anything.

Thats how they dont have to list an actual amount. AND this stuff for a 12 OZ Not a 2 ounce shot would have 36 grams of sugar. Thats a LOT.

I Invented a product that selectively kills weeds, got a patent, is a product on shelves and is based on soluble salts.

I invented a chemical combination that kills cigarette smoke, mold and other similar smells and we use it in getting rid of smells in cars. It is not patented but is a useful product.

Coca-cola is not patented, many products are not patented because then the company would have to publish what's in the product.

But you have to have a solvent that passes the skin barrier.

I can make a solid pellet go through your skin barrier. Its not hard to make a transdermal product. The question is, does the active ingredient do anything?

Don't know much about Intellectual Property rights, the things you say are chemical combinations which are a little more 'precise', this device is a plastic half tube and a bolt....

Sorry I thought you were asking about the chemical. For about $1200 they can get a "patent pending" status on their product. It would have to state that on the product somewhere. That status would buy them about 3 years that no one in their right mind would copy them. Even if their patent didn't issue, they would have a 3 year jump on their competition.

Its funny people on a motocross forum are ripping on someone in this industry advertising products when MX is literally one of the worst sports out there in terms of athletes and people advertising products. You guys are acting like this is something new when after every race you watch all these riders spout off 40 different company names and pretend to drink energy drinks on the podium. I like how people will watch that bs every weekend but draw the line on aldon promoting this stuff. Its pretty comical
