I will be over from England the last week in March for a Cousin's wedding. If any of you are from the area and wanna meet let me know, i'd love to get to some local tracks and hit downtown for beers. I have reserched and see there are tracks in the area as well as the JGR one. Like i'm getting there, ye i know.

The main track around Raleigh is NCMP. It is a great track. The JGR track will be several hours away. Depending on how far you are willing to travel I can tell you about more tracks!

Cool - I'd be happy just hitting a local practice day or whatever. if all else fails i think a few beers are in order seen as i am coming so far.

How large is Raleigh? Where im from (Manchester) i think its around 40 sq miles but i know over there you think 4 miles is a trip to the local shop

I'm a local rider in Raleigh as well. NCMP is the closest track and has the most variety to choose from. Main track, supercross track, intermediate track, and trails. Although it has a tendency to get real choppy and hard pack. I have been riding a whole lot at COW Branch lately and really like it. The guy grooms it before practically every open practice day. About 1.5 hour drive

I'm in Raleigh area also plenty of tracks within about an hour. Ncmp is ok but don't groom track. Plenty of places to get beer. Cow branch and wide open mx are 2 real good sand tracks but many others just depends on how far you want to go.

Another RDU rider here. Lots of good riding within a few hours. Other than the short loop behind the house, I'll usually go to NCMP or Cow Branch. Last weekend in March there is a Hare Scramble at Windy Hill about 1.5 hours from Raleigh.

Awesome! I'm looking into raleigh because I like the beach and it's not to far away. I'm going to take a trip down there soon and have a look around. I want to live somewhere in suburbia but I don't know what are some good affordable areas are.

I've been here my whole life, high school, college and first job. Great place to live. 1.5 hours from the beach 3 hours from the mountains. Multiple riding spots within 1.5 hours from the city center. The city is currently experiencing growing pains with the amount of people moving here, but overall I love it here.
