First and foremost, i'd like to offer an apology to all of you that have received scores of emails from Motoplayground in the past 24 hours. Our 3rd party mail client is having a global issue affecting many of their accounts, including motoplayground email addresses. The good news is they have isolated the problem and the emails should be subsiding if they haven't already. We can't live without technology, but man, it can make our lives a headache sometimes.

For those of you who have been inconvenienced by this, we would like to turn lemons into lemonade. We will offer you a free 1-year subscription and as a token of our gratitude for understanding that things happen. Heck, even if you didn't receive the email but want to say you did...no sweat. The bottom line is we're here to promote the roots of our sport and want people to read the finest amateur motocross publication available.

To redeem your free subscription, email us all of your contact information at freesub@motoplayground.com. We'll get your annual subscription under way, just in time for the start of the season. Thanks again for your patience and keep it on 2 wheels.

Flarider is correct, on why this is happening , sure it was a third party product , but they made the errors it setting things up or a web guy , but they also have some ethical / professional issues on how they are managning and getting addresses for a mailing list.

Someone will take some heat over this I am sure

i think it's cool that MP is owning up to the glitch and offering the free subs. It's only going to help their circ number anyway (wink, wink) so I guess everyone wins. Smile

but, am i the only one who thinks it's a little ridiculous that there is even a publication dedicated to amateur mx in the first place?? no offense to MP but seriously, have you looked at those mags before? double spread ads from Thor or whatever other gear company, promoting some Super Mini class kid. Does that really help sell gear and build a brand? the only people who probably know or care about said rider in an ad like that are other amateur kids who probably already get free gear from either them or a competitor anyways.

i completely support amateur mx as it is the backbone of what most of us do for fun and it's a platform for those serious about the sport to get to the next level. But am i alone in thinking it was just getting out of hand and a little bit ridiculous? i have been going to vurb moto website lately because they have really cool vids. But i started reading the ocntent and i can't believe they think people care about this stuff. There's some teen girl that posts her IM conversation as an interview with kids asking them questions about "their program" and their "ride for this season"??

sorry for the rant and not really sure where it all came from, just s few things i had though about before and it seemed appropriate in this thread.

If you were into amatuer racing you would enjoy all the stuff thats go's into all the amatuer
magazines and web sites, especially if your kid was in one of the articles. I do agree that some of the stuff is lame. I for one like the thursday moto playground article because its about my son. This is how up and coming riders get there press for the future.
