Apologize if this is supposed to be in the race shop forum instead. Does anyone own a 2017 fc 350 and can give me some insight? I was looking at moving to a four stroke this season from my yz125 or at least adding one to the stable and looked at all the shoot out's etc. But can't find any real owner reviews. I'm a novice (3 -4 years riding) 31 year old 158lb vet guy. I had a few of the newer yz250Fs that were okay but actually liked my yz125 better. Curious how the husky feels. I like how the reviews say its a novice friendly power band in comparison to the KTM, just want to make sure its a good fit before I drop $9k on one of these (why are they so damn expensive compared to the others). My priorities in a bike are reliability and ease of riding/handling. Thanks for the input!

I thought you stopped or quit? you didn't like your 16 ktm 150. Most likely won't like the white ktm either.

Nope still riding. I would think they'd be a good bit different, no more 4cs forks and 2 vs 4 stroke.

Yes they would be a bit different but it's still the same. Glad you didn't stop riding!

Ya I just was trying to be subjective after all the shoot outs seeming to put them at the top. And thanks!

If you were closer to Texas I would let you try out my 350. You might really dig one. It's like a 250 power wise but with a little more juice when you need it.

I've had a few 250fs, ridden the new Yamaha 250f which is a great bike. But for me, another vet type who rides 250 two strokes, the 250fs were the least fun. I just hated revving them and they weren't exciting. I did have more fun on my buddies 350 though, revved more freely, not as much engine braking and easier to ride. After following a few of your posts you should really at least give a 250 two stroke a shot, especially since you already have the 125.

Thanks man! That was my first look and my buddy tried to convince me they are a stupid bike size.

I do love my 2 strokes, I just feel so much more comfortable with the power band and feel. Maybe a new yz250. Just being allured back into the 4 stroke world.

The allure is short lived! A yz 250 with good jetting and a flywheel weight will make all the difference. More hp than a 250f, lighter than a 250f and not as big and lazy as a 450. Cheaper and will be easy to transition to from your 125. I would at least ride one before you blow a ton of money on a new 250f. Especially once you own it and you want to sell it soon after you buy it, that $$ is gone like a fart in the wind my man.

Agreed which is why I've hesitated and you can't beat resale on 2 strokes vs 4.

Your buddy is kinda stupid. The 350 is a very well rounded bike and size.

Coming from another novice vet (gncc/harescramble) and this will be my third full year back on a bike. I LOVE a small bore two stroke. I've had a 95 CR125, 94 CR250 and now an 09 250SX. I have yet to ride a 250F that I truly enjoy besides the Yamaha 250FX. I'm a die hard 2 stroke fan but know I am faster on the 350, just too cheap to buy one right now and I love my SX. The 350 has the handling and feel weight wise of a 250F but with that extra bit of ass that the 250F lacks. Keep in mind, I have 45lbs on you so I'm sure thats playing into it. My buddy's son rides a YZ250F and is probably 10lbs less than you and rips that thing. He jumped from his CR125 to the 250F and immediately began clicking off better results. The linear power of the 4T pays dividends sometimes.

I tend to disregard his opinion sometimes, he's the one who also told me buying my 125 would be a mistake. lol. I'll probably hold off till the spring and see if I can ride one of each before I pull the trigger. I do agree the linear power of a 250F is missed sometimes when it comes to sending that double or big ass table out of a tight turn or muddy conditions. Thanks for the advice!

My '17 track bike , so far this year, has been an FC350. Anyone that's saying something negative about them obviously hasn't ridden one. Too Much F'n Fun.

Great to hear. Do you think its worth it over the FC 250?

I've had 16 350sxf and now 17 350sxf, i race MX and CC and in my opinion 350 is just perfect machine for both. Lightweight, easy to ride, handles amazing and both of my 350s have been very reliable.

I ride an RM250 2T and a 16 YZ250F, the YZ hasnt seen dirt since last June. But, I am seriously considering selling both and getting a 350. I have ridden several of them over the last 6 years. Each time i have to talk myself out of going to the dealership the next week. They are pretty much the ultimate bike. I just love 2 strokes too much to let mine go lol

Thanks! Great hearing all this great input/experience. I adore my 125 so letting it go for a 350 is a rough choice to make. Plus the price is a bit painful.
