Looking through round 3 of silly season, I noticed there is not a rider wearing a thor helmet. Is it just coincidence? Are the helmets not up to par?

They're all the same. I believe Thor is Parts Unlimited house brand, and Fly is WPS's house brand. Both mega corporations. They just outsource to probably the same factories in China.

Exactly right. All of those types of helmets essentially come out of the same factory. That Thor helmet RV wore was absolutely not an off the shelf Thor helmet.

I mean he did get knocked the hell out at monster cup in one. So maybe it was off the shelf. That would explain a lot. I feel like you know something I don't though haha.

Why do you say that? Did they use a superior styrofoam cooler to make his, as opposed to the variety you find at the convenience store to make the off-the-shelf ones?

It's not uncommon for some of the pro guys helmets to have some features that aren't off the shelf. Several pro guys have 3D graphs done to custom fit the padding to the riders head, the shell is usually not what's being altered. Just features that the company doesn't put the money in to for the mass produced helmets. It's no different than them getting access to parts that aren't mass produced.
