Do they check for registration on the MX track? My Son raced there back in 2007 -08 on his 50 and I can't remember if they checked. I know for sure there was not a spark arrestor on his bike.
they don't check for reg at the track, but you do need a spark arrestor now. When you went last it was still privately owned.

Guys! Let me know when you are all headed up there. Vital meet at Gorman.

Track has been awesome lately. I'd go this weekend, but I'm racing the Big 6 next weekend.

Joe, from what I understand the ticket is about $650 for no spark arrestor. The rangers do come around randomly and check for them.
Yeah mellow. I just bought a 2 stroke FMF sparky from Rocky Mountain for $150. Mellow, I need one to ride some zones in Oregon anyways...

I'm thinking of going out there next weekend, still not supposed to ride with my shoulder but I think another week and I'll be comfortable. Evil I'll bring this post up next week if I go up there!
well, the wife said that since I am racing big 6 up there next weekend she wants me to ride this weekend as well. Who am I to argue with her, right? Let me know if you go up either weekend.

You guys are a fickle bunch, when Joe Sutter own the place he put a ton of work to dial the track in and all everyone did was bitch, it's to rutted, to wet, blab blah blah. Now that the state owns it, does nothing and you have tinware it yourself it's all the rage? I don't get it.....

So in turn Joe doesn't pay the utility bills and the state shuts the track down for a couple years. Your right we should support Joe. What a star he is.

By the way you generalize your statement i take offense to it, You know why ? I supported Joe from day 1 ! I supported Shane Trittler from DAY 1 !. His tracks were just as good as Joe's, by the way. Joe also made all these huge promises ... saying he was gonna make it baby Mammoth .... add lights ...SAND .... in your words Blah, blah blah .

Come on out and check it.... but don't fire off spew when that's all it is. The track has someone who really cares and takes pride in it. So why shouldn't we support him ? Cause he's a state worker ? Cool story bro.

Agreed. I've spun thousands of laps here since I was on 60's. I've supported whoever ran it and I never complained when sutter ran it. Actually no one I know ever complained until it went to shit. After the state took over it got pretty bad for a while if you didn't go on a prep day but I still rode it no matter what. Helped with my throttle control a lot too Tongue

824 Dad you really should go check it out on a Saturday or Sunday. The guy that they have doing the track now is doing a pretty good job with it.

Let's be honest. A sparky isn't going to slow you down at I5, Gorman, whatever they call it now. It's always blue groove by noon.
Last I raced Gorman it was deep sand whoops and loamy except a few sections on the top.
I won a shit ton of races there in the 80s.

At some point I will ride there. I don't know how it is now, but we stopped by there after riding Taft back around March or April and the dirt looked awesome, but the faces of the jumps looked like that take off of a supercross triple. I hope they aren't like that anymore because I really want to ride there, but that was enough to make me tell myself that I've got to be at work on Monday and there are three people counting on my paycheck. Lol. I don't want to go to a track and just roll all the jumps because at that point I'm not having any fun. I know eventually I would get the balls to do them, but if something went wrong my wife would kill me Laughing
