Hello, I believe I have a problem with the crank seal on the clutch side. My friend and I replaced split the case, rebuilt crank and when we put in the clutch side crank seal, we believe it could have been little bit damaged in the process. The bike starts up good but I told my friend we may want to replace it to be sure
My question is,,, Can we pull the clutch side engine cover off and remove the drive gear for the clutch to replace the seal??? When the drive gear is removed, I can remove the collar on the crankshaft to get at the seal easier, hope to pry the seal out without splitting the case again...any ideas?? . thanks!

I use a small drill to predrill a couple holes. Then, screw in two sheetrock screws to use for pulling. It works great. Just make sure you hold a magnet close when you drill so you don't get any chips inside. And don't drill too deep of course.
NOTE: If you can just pry the seal with a screwdriver, that might be the safer way. (I'm sure someone will mention that too.)
