He's been signed to ride for Suzuki MXGP team next year. Such a weird signing, he seems to have come out of nowhere. Everts must see potential in him, especially with who's available out there.

Good for him! He won't really be a top5 guy all year but I'm sure he will make huge improvements

Do they have strijbos again too?

As far as I know tonus is still up in the air.
He wants to stay there and if he gets a decent ride, he will.

There's a Huge amount of racing in Europe, what with so many National series and Internationals Those races, are where they 'found' him.

They provide plenty of chances to show your talent. I hope he does well in the future.

Obviously Everts is planning on a long term basis. Strijbos stays, but he'll be lucky to get another GP victory again next year. Jasikonis is only 18 and a choice for the future, to give the youth a chance. Everts himself knows as good as us couchracers that a worldtitle is out of the question in the MXGP-class next year. In MX2 he has Seewer and Vaessen signed, and Zachary Pichon has signed for Suzuki aswell yesterday, and will race the EMX250 series.

Yeah I thought Strijbos still has a contract for 2017 with them. But no contract for 2018... If I remeber correctly he said in an interview that if he doesn't find a good team after 2017 he may retire from racing.

No he doesn't. Jasikonis eye-opening results only came from the sand GPs. Everything else was the same results he got on the Kawi.
Strijbos permanent struggles have to be no longer acceptable for a factory team, but he said himself he thinks about retiring.

Whats going on at Suzuki worldwide? They are a shell of their former selfes.

I can see Seewers price rising rapidly next year. Did they try to lock him up for 2018 on the 450?

True, they lost Rockstar as a sponsor so I guess they have to settle with a lot less budget the next few seasons and Townley didn't came over for peanuts either.

He's on the 250 RMZ in 2017 and has to move up afterwards. I can't see Suzuki signing anyone with more potential than this kid within the next few years. To get back to topic, dang Seewer is remarkably older than Jasikonis!

Ferris is a very good rider, but he's not going to get any better/faster than he is now. Jasikonis has a lot more potential to grow. Although I doubt he will ever win a GP, but it's possible.

Jasikonis would probably be the same story as Desalle. Suzuki gave him a factory from out of nowhere and a few years later he was a title contender.

If you go to the dreaded MX Geoff's website, you'll see an interview/ story with Harry Everts.
There's a brief section on Jasikonis, with Harry talking about how in practice sessions they noticed him hooking onto their riders / other top riders, and learning. And his noted good interactions with others.

It sort of echoes Dungey's approaching Decoster / Team Suzuki, years ago.

Seems quite a switched on young fellow. Like DeSalle, he seems also to be a 450 rider from the get go in terms of his highest level career start, though, I know very little of him - the young Giant may well have done a lot of 1252t and 250F overloading........

clear they got no budget.

Jasikonis is good in the sand but has a lot to learn on hardpack. Will be hard to get a top 15 spot with Anstie, Tonkov, Herlings steppin up to MXGP.

Seewer couldn't sign a contract for more than 1 year because the MX2 and MXGP team are not the same.
Signed for a season MX2 and will probably sign next season a mxgp deal with Suzuki.

id sign Jasikonis over a hell of alot of riders that were being mentioned for the team , i think its a great move . People saying he is only good in sand . The guy is 18 ,and its not like he is slow on hard pack . i d sign him over paulin any day . least there is a chance Jasikonis can get way better .and win . Seewer will be a championship contender straight away in mxgp . i think he will be suited even more to the 450 . Future looks bright for Everts team imo . some great young riders in mx2 and emx2

Loads of people were saying the exact same thing about dungey being signed too . When Harry say s he see something in him .That mean s alot imo
