I have an 04 powerstroke and I'm trying to see what I can do to get better mileage out of it. I have friends that have put a fass on their trucks and claim to get up to a 5mpg increase. Wondering if anyone here has had experience with it.

I know the filtering aspect and air removal is great I am just curious about mpg

It doesn't really have any properties that would suggest increased fuel mpg. The Fass and Airdog systems (or any filtration system with an external lift pump) are mainly just for getting better fuel filtration via a finer micron filter and water separator. Also, the external lift pumps usually have a much higher flow rate capability versus your stock system so if you're looking to make more power they are good for that as well when you get into other aftermarket parts that reach your stock system's limit. I don't think it's going to have much of an affect on fuel mileage, if any at all. What it will be good at doing is supplying a consistent fuel pressure.

For the 6.0 Powerstroke, or any diesel for that matter, it definitely does not hurt to have better fuel filtration to keep those injectors healthy. If you're looking for better MPG I'd suggest starting with a higher flowing exhaust system, intake, and a tune.

That was my initial thought I didn't see a whole lot of validity to getting better milage out of a fass or airdog. But I think I will get it just for the added filtration benefits considering how expensive injectors are.

My next plan is to do a 4 in turbo back and an sct tuner with custum tubes from innovative.

Thanks for your input.

I put a fass titanium 150 on my 5.9 cummins when my stock pump went out. I got about a .2mpg increase.

That sounds a little more realistic. I have a friend with a 5.9 that claim 4mpg increase and another that drives an 06 duramax that claims 5

I noticed more when I did the cold air intake and 5" turbo back exhaust. I get about 22mpg on 35" tires so I'm not complaining. If you want a huge increase have the head port and polished

What is your truck? I'm still ok the fence about an intake. Alot of the research I have done says the factory intake on the 6.0 is one of if not the best intakes out there for it. I could be wrong but that's just what I have read.

Nvm about what your truck is. I just re read

Would be okay to have cleaner fuel, mileage increase would be minimal.
