I hope villo punts his ass to the third row, the guy has zero chance at winning a SX why mess with villo who is trying atleast to win and is faster than alessi in sx.

from racerX:

Mike was asked if he brake-checked Villopoto on purpose, and he responded, "Dude, I’m doing what I had to do to make sure guys don’t pass me, so yeah, pretty much. I mean, I’m not just going to let some guy ride around the outside of me without putting up a fight, so I did whatever it took to make sure the guy behind me wasn’t going to pass me. But at the end of the day it was a racing incident.

"I’m not going to be pushed around,” he added, “and I hope it happens again this weekend and I look forward to it. I hope he comes trying to take me out because I’m ready. I’m not scared of him at all."

When pressed later in the interview if he had heard the holeshot comments Villopoto made at Anaheim, Mike responded, "Yeah, I heard it and that’s why he got some payback this weekend."

After only two races, this SX season is certainly not lacking any plotlines on and off the track. Anaheim 2 should be a great race, and not just for the podium.

Thanks for the update, Izer.

Maybe RV shouldn't try and ride around the outside of a rival?

I don't care either way, I just hope both make to the outdoors safe and sound...they'll be more evenly matched out there.

I bet Roger is real pleased with Mike. He knows whats up after coaching RV in the last couple des nats. Ryan wont go seeking redemption, he has bigger fish to try and fry.

Ryan Villopoto isn't the white knight that you all try to make him out to be.

What was your take when they were on the 250 and Mike went wide to let him thru and he went straight at Mike and to him out. Poto said on the podium he took him out on purpose but clearly had no reason to do so.

Good interview. Props to James. Very humble and respectful of Grant and Chad. I like that. Can't wait for racing tomorrow night.

As for the Alessi thing? It didn't look dirty to me. Mike was in front. He got the better start. He earned it. I'm sure RV is more pissed at himself for going high in that turn than he is at Mike. That being said,IMHO Mike should have just shut up and let it go.Mouthing off like he is when he is considerably slower (indoors) just makes him look worse. Sure, ride a wide bike, fight for your position, but STFU and take whatever place you get. Mikey is a racer at heart. He should just race. Not talk. Just my opinion of course. I want to see him do well, but the mouth turns people off. Villo was smart to blast past him the next time and humiliate Mike with his speed. I hope RV keeps his trap shut and doesn't retaliate.Just give a good humble interview when he podiums tomorrow night.Wink

Yeah, Mike should shut up and race since he has got nothing for RV2 except for some cheap shots. Sure, they may call it racing, but it is still just a cheap shot.

Ryan cares, but not enough to care on the track. Playing games with 11th place is only taking you to 12th or dnf. He knows this and everyone else knows this. It's done.

Go Back years ago, Tyler Evans/Ernesto Fonseca exact same thing. But instead the Fonz said the only person to blame is himself. For a person to be racing for a long time and at that level he should have seen it coming.Other words riders should anticipate those things to happen during race time.

I think its Great. After 2 rounds of supercross, there is already more shit talk and bench racing than any other year i can remember. I think its awesome for the sport with all these rivalries.

RV needs to concentrate on not getting lapped this week and Mike needs to concentrate on not getting hurt so he will be good to go for the nationals. When the outdoors start it should be a great battle between Mike and RV.

Yes As flat out bad as Mike looks out there he should shut up and ride with an eye towards the Nationals. I have allways liked Mike because he "brings it". And I have a place in my heart for young men who have to overcome there parents to find there own idenity. But that move was classless it really was. While those boys are trying to take of 5 year old business Josh is taking care of the business at hand.

"Talk shit....get hit."

RV called Alessi out by making that crack after the heat race at A-1, he didn't have to say anything about Mike nobody asked him about that. RV talked a little smack all on his own.

Alessi answered back by parking him as he tries to ride around the outside.

That's racing.

I think both guys will get a little reminder from their team managers about what is important before tonights race and we won't see those games again for a while.
