and then they rescinded those advancements.

Honestly, we could all go round and round, over and over, but the reality is, nothing will change the fact that they (not just Mookie, but all of those in the same boat) were legal at the beginning of the series and are still legal in accordance to the promoter who chose to run his series under the rules in which it began and not change rules or classifications mid-series.

It is what it is.

Your issue is not with the riders, but with the promoter.
As long as this is an AMA sanctioned series, the promoter as well as the participants are required to follow the AMA rules. The 2008 rulebook clearly states:

"In series’ that roll over into a new year, riders’ must begin the series in the class they will compete in during the new year. A rider cannot continue racing their class from the previous year if they are no longer eligible as of December 31st."

I don't see how any 16 year old with enough points to advance could possibly race the B class and be considered legal.

Now whether the AMA chooses to enforce these rules is a completely different story.

why single out Malcolm, Scott?
1/16/2009 10:35am
That is the point I was making. Most riders use that money to help them race. AMA came up with the rules for a reason. That is so that it is fair all the way around. The points you earn determine what riding level you should be in. If you point out and have to move to the next level, that should be something you are proud of.

So this is about Stewart then, because his brother has so much money, he should be exempt from the rules.

I am not singling out Malcolm, my post`s have been about all riders that have been advanced, and how they should have known that advancements were coming back this year, and they could have found out before hand if they were going to advance or not. In my opinion, Malcolm is no different then any other rider out there. But all riders need to follow the rules that have been in place.

They started the series in their legal class.
The promoter, as is their prerogative, chose to complete their series with the same rules they began with.

Your beef is with them.

They did not start the series in their legal class. If they were 16, had enough points to advance and the series spanned into 2009, then B class is not their legal class, no matter what the promoter says. The promoter does not make the rules, the AMA does.

Then your beef is with the promoter, isn't it?

From what I understand, the AMA is talking with the promoter and they state that either they move up or face being DQ`D. They told me at AMA that if we race at an event, and an advanced rider rides in the wrong class.(B to A) Protest.

Also, the advancements are 2009 Advancements. Doesnt the Florida WInter AMS say 2009 Winter AMS?

I don't have any beef but how's it the promoters problem if the rider signed up in a class he isn't eligible for? I doubt the promoter filled out his entry forms.

Rider thought he was and promoter and referee allowed it?

Other than that, ask them

Doesn't matter what the riders want, does it?If they point out, and are 16 they move.

I race against vet A guys that I don't have a chance of keeping up with, but I do it anyway.

Hey Flarider, you can stick that weather underground temp where the sun don't shine.. It finally got above zero today for the first time in 4 days...

Regardless of the 16 or 15 or A or B, Malcolm is a complete badass:

Ahhhhh, shit, it looks like he just might step up and do some damage.

Is he running the 450 at the Winter Am. races? He's on one in that vid.
