15 yz 450 extra hardware in oil change

Not sure if anyone else had this problem, but thank god for a magnetic drain plug. Did an oil change and found a random 5mm Phillips on my drain plug. Ended up being from oil pump backing plate. If ya haven't already I'd pull yours n red loc tite it

whoooaaa. What brand is your magnetic drain plug? I'm definitely getting one now!

Looks like this repair can be done without splitting the cases? I've never needed to look at this, but I do now. thx

I think the plug may be a yoshi. Yah easy fix. Just pull the side cover and clutch basket off. You'll see a little gear for the oil pump at about4-5:00 from clutch basket. Take the 2 Allen head bolts out. On the backside of that gear is s backing plate which is where this Phillips came from. Good luck!
