my wife is an event manager with feld. she has worked arenacross since 1989. since arenacross cut their events back, she moved over to monster trucks. we just returned from her first monster truck show in montgomery, alabama. it was the first time i had been to a monster jam. i enjoyed the friday night show and felt like i was entertained during the whole show. the saturday afternoon show was more of a rerun for me. saturday night, i went back to the hotel and watched a basketball game instead of watching the third show. it was loud, the fans got into it and the trucks were big and expensive looking. they had big semis to haul the trucks in and lots of mechanics. the drivers signed autographs and there was a track party on the floor. i'm sure it takes big balls to jump those things over just three cars and i'll tell you that i wouldn't do it. still, it's not as thrilling as dirtbikes for me. watching or riding. since i don't have an arenacross team this year, i have to go to her next show in litttle rock and help out. lucky me. dbm

talk to a guy at A! who works all the shows. he said the poosey at the monster jam stuff is all fine...finer than moto even. sez the people are different but the same and not as crazy as sx fans. probably not as stupid either.

You can say what you want about those Monster truck folks but here is one fact you can't argue.

They draw big.

Big enough for them to run multiple events on a given weekend.
I wish MX/SX/AX could put up those numbers....then DBM would be at an AX event instead of eating room service and watching B-ball.

I worked the floor as a flagger for the Legends cars & the motorcycle flat track at the one here in Charlotte 2 weeks ago.

There was a film crew at the event that covers all of the Monster Truck events. http://monsterblog.com
