They're on the Golf Channel now trying to justify it. I hope they don't let them off the hook. The one guy said he caused the ball to move by grounding his club 'next' to the ball. Not behind it. Next to it. Clearly, the ball didn't move until he put the club behind the ball and he never grounded it. Chamblee is grilling them!!
That was pretty bad.
Dustin really let them off the hook by winning by 4.
I haven't watched any of the post tournament interviews. I wonder if he changed his strategy at all once he learned he was under review. Seems like he didn't. The other guys just threw away a few strokes although Dustin did birdie 17 or 18.
The penalty was pretty ridiculous. Officiating in sports needs to be able to use some discretion. As long as the player didn't gain an advantage by moving the ball, and it moved less than a mm and it wasn't intentional. . . WTF? Why do we need a penalty?

I love how all of his fellow competitors (Rory, Speith, and Fowler) began hammering the USGA on social media when that was going down.
I was pretty busy all weekend and missed basically the whole tournament. I'm stoked DJ won tho, gotta be the first guy to win the US Open and celebrate by doing a line off his hot chick's asshole. I've always been a fan of Dustin's for the most part, but that's some shit I can root for. I don't really give a shit about the long ball, but he's fun as hell to watch.

Anyone care to fill me in on what happened?
Dustin's ball barely flinched as he was lining up to putt. When I say barely flinched, it moved maybe a mm backwards. They had a couple of views but you couldn't get a definitive view that Dustin made contact. In all honesty, he PROBABLY did something to make the ball flinch, but at the time, I believe he was one stroke ahead, and a one stroke penalty would have changed the tournament drastically. Fortunately, his competitors started bogeying and he went on to win by 4 strokes I believe.

Had he argued He would have lost either way, lucky for the USGA the rest of the field collapsed.
Exactly, don't be bush league and leave DJ and the rest of the field chasing him wondering if they are or not going to penalize him. The broadcast had the USGA rules official on to explain what was going on and the guy did every thing possible to say "we're going to take a look at it after the round, but it's going to be a penalty" without actually saying it.
And I am in firm belief that DJ was not in the wrong. The ball rolled backwards literally 1mm. How the hell is that an advantage? Replace the ball to where it was and move on.
Sounds like a bunch of fat women writing these tweets. Haha.

Musta been a distraction for at the least his tee partner.
Not one coherent sentenced in the whole presentation.
Embarrassing.
