2008 crf250r engine rebuild help!

i just put a new bottom end and piston in a 08 crf250r and put it all together, put oil in it, gassed her up and went to start it and nothing! kicked it a bunch of times and all i got was some backfires and a worn out right leg lol where should i start looking for the problem??

how do i check the cam timing? make sure the two little notches on the camshaft is aligned with cylinder head?

Download a manual if you dont already have one, make sure that little dot on the crank is lined up withe the arrow on the sidecover, then look at camshaft lobe ,the lobes should be facing rearward.and the reference (DOTS) ON THE CAMSHAFT SPROCKET should be lined up with the surface of the head, hopefully you didnt do any damage kickin it over. Always doublecheck your work before buttoning up.

yea i have the service manual and i followed the instructions per the manual lined up the crank with the little arrow on the case and made sure the cam shaft sprocket was lined up and everything was good but ill have to open her up and see if everything is still good! thanks
