Hey guys and gals kiwi coming over from the land of the long white cloud New Zealand to hit Redbud and Southwick. Yes stoked to finally make it with the middy in tow, long time lurker around the vital sight. So looking for suggestions for those in the no what to do when to stay etc in these areas have booked V.I.P North tickets for redbud as catching up with some mates from Perth there staying Chicago few nights then fly New York on the 4th any advice or ideas thanks in advance....
Would you like to see some other forms of racing, like NASCAR or NHRA? Spend time at the beach, or hiking in the mountains? Visiting historical landmarks, or amusement parks? Big cities or country retreats?
I could give you plenty of suggestions in the New England area, and will also be at Southwick.
Camping at RedBud is an entirely different experience than camping in the rest of the state

NHRA in Ohio, the weekend prior to RedBud

Could take in some awesome racing with minimal travel, if you have the time or inclination.
I never would have known that there was that much sand (beach) in Michigan. Look like more sand than I've seen on any Florida Beach and I've seen all of those.
Oh yeah, lake Michigan is COLD AS FUCK in July!!
Minus having our food stolen I we really enjoyed come there to visit and plan to do so again one day. Now that I have a Toy Hauler we will try the camping experience there on site and ride amateur day

Make sure you get to the races early and get a pass to get autographs. Message the teams on social media, rch really looked after us. Our sons name is Roczen so they took care of us which was awesome.
Don't drink the normal us beer, they do some quality craft beers.
Harbor Shores Golf Club is not too far from RedBud, the Senior PGA stops there, so it's a beautifully well-kept course.
I would recommend just driving north along the lakeshore and see what you find. South Haven is a cool town, Saugatuck is very cool too, but it's a little further north than South Haven. If you wanted, you could go from St Joseph to South Haven, Saugatuck, Holland and GR all in a day. That's what I would do. But then you'd have to drive all the way back to Chicago if you didn't want to fly out of GR...
if you are staying close and can get there Friday afternoon, its a great time to see the bikes up close, and meet some of the people, esp the privateers, Saturday is all go so it can be quite busy,
