Kxf 250 14 shifting problems

When I go to shift into 3rd in the air or sum times in straight aways there's a 40 percent chance I will go into 3rd. I know that kawi 's don't shift the best under load.is there anything I can do to change that? It seems to be shifting fine when I'm not on throttle hard.should I take my bike to my kawi dealer? Just don't wanna waste time and money thanks for the help

Its probably either a slightly bent selector fork or a worn engagement dog

3rd gear is usually one of the most used gears

If you are not allowing the shifter to fully return after the first to second shift, it will not shift up to third. Be sure you are allowing the shifter to completely return to it's static position after all shifts. This is a common problem with missed shifts.

It also might help to let off the gas momentarily while shifting into 3rd gear

How much is that with labor usually just ball park estimate you think
