I have an RM250 engine laying around and not sure on the year. Is there a way to identify the year? I know it's in the 80's era. I'm also selling it so email me about it

Throw a picture up. Is it air cooled, water cooled, etc. That will help sell it.

All Suzuki dealers have a motorcycle identification book, being an x Suzuki factory rep. I still have a copy goes into the early 90's so post the engine # and I may be able to help.

I can offer these engine codes. Not sure if they will get you anything:

J114 = 96, J115 = 97, J116 = 98, J117 = 99, J118 = 00

Looks like an '84 or '85. '86 had the exhuast valve/chamber, and '87 and up had the exhaust valve. The engine also appears to be sitting in an '84 or '85 frame. I raced an '85 in that year.
'84's had a black painted motor, and '85's where a gun metal gray color.
