I am sorry to hear that.

As for the one gentleman who freaked out because the term "heart attack" was even mentioned because of how good of physical shape his buddy was in, it doesn't matter.

People have heart attacks, even people in excellent physical shape.

The man who practically revolutionized and/or introduced the concept of running for exercise, writing the book, "The Complete Book of Running, JIM FIXX died of a heart attack after one of his daily runs.

Heart attacks happen.

Many on this forum remember a dear forum member, Marcad, who died in his chair at the track between practices. Marty (Marcad) may not have qualified for a Mr Universe contest, but he was in decent shape and rode weekly...MX was what he lived for. He was at the track, got done with a practice and sat in his chair resting....and he died.

Just died

I am sorry to hear of this man's passing, but people need to realize that good health is no guarantee of eternal life and the hissy fit by his friend a page earlier was uncalled for

I still miss, Marty

Other than an Ei sticker, the only other moto sticker on my vehicle is my "57 Marcad" tribute decal.

Nothing else

(BTW, he put that and the RacerX stickers over the urinals in a bar, that's why that's a funny picture....you had to be there)
Well Ronnie is having a real hard time losing his best friend of over 25 years so he was only lashing out in grief. The rumor mill is horrible at times like these and it was hard enough to grasp what had happened little lone having speculations as to why. So we all know now and I hope you can understand grief is a funny thing.....Let's all move on.....Thanks.

My name is Judi Scott and I am the Grandmother of Terry Chumbley's children. We are all very appreciative of all the wonderful things everyone has to say about Terry. He was truly a wonderful man who lived life to the fullest and most of all loved his children, Tyler and Caitlin.

I have been appointed the administrator of his estate and will be helping his children make the decisions regarding the disposition of his property. You should not believe any of the stories or rumors you hear about what will happen to his things. A lot of you know his kids and his best friends, so you know we will make sure everything is respectfully done and in the best interest of keeping his memory alive for all of us who loved him and will miss him.

He has great kids and he was a great dad!! Please contact me if you want and more information. Email me at judi0812@aol.com - Please use Terry Chumbley as the subject line so I will answer right away.

Does anyone have any information about the raffle in Cedar Rapids. We have no details on this.

Hope to see you at the Memorial Concert at the ValAir in West Des Moines on Saturday evening, June 13.

Thank you
Judi Scott

I didn't know him, but I dread the loss of anyone, especially Moto related, I hope his family and friends can eventually get to the positive thoughts, and smile at his remembrance.

SharonC--Thanks for the updated info from the M.E.

Most of this thread is civil; however, for some of the others:

Seriously people, petty bickering is not what this thread should be about.

I certainly support freedom of speech and believe people should be able to share their thoughts; however, it just seems to sour a thread that seems like it should more about honoring this gentleman's memory. You certainly aren't the only one, and I was not singling you or any other specific person out. Getting facts would be nice, but "he said, she said" becomes difficult to determine what is fact and what is not. Sorry if I seemed like I was jumping on anyone, but there is so much bickering and infighting on these boards that it can sometimes taint things.

If there are specific things being done to benefit Terry's children or , maybe a new thread should be created for that, and this one can be for tributes and memories. Same goes for any bickering. How about facts--there are many people here who seemed to know him and were friends with him--for those people, is there a bank that they can send memorials to?

There's my rant. Facts and civil is what I request, but it is certainly not required.

The benefit concert Saturday evening was fantastic! It was a beautiful night and lots of people rode their bikes. The display out front was very cool! There was a constant stream of friends and family throughout the night. The bands were awesome! I don't mean to get all girlie but it was very moving to see the bands pay tribute to a friend in a
personal, almost spiritual way through their music.

A big thanks should be given to Cardani Productions for putting a nice event together in a short amount of time. The Val Air is an under appreciated venue.

This is exactly the type of celebration you would expect to see Terry - Black jeans, boots, Ed Hardy T-shirt and that crazy gold necklace and bracelet he loved. Party on Terry!

I hope they were able to raise a nice amount for his kids.

Terry passed away while racing in the Fossil class round #4 of the Thor Super series in Millville, Minnesota 25 May 2009. From what I understand his Aorta ruptured after crashing into a face of a jump on the Spring Creek National MX track. He had several talents and I looked up to him from way back in the Lewis Suzuki days. Farwell and Follwing seas T.
