I posted a couple of clips by the Raconteurs last week, but it was late Sat night and not many people were in non moto. After watching them on Austin City Limits that night and watching several YT clips, I decided I wanted to make them the Friday Music Clip.
Simply put, the guys are awesome. I knew of Jack White from the White Stripes and while I like a couple of their songs, I wouldn’t say I was a big fan. However, seeing these guys, I gotta tell you, they ain‘t no 3 chord alternative band. They’re pretty bluesy, roots rockers who can flat out play. If it’s a side project of some sort, they’re awfully tight for a side project.
There are 4 clips included today. Two are covers. Bang Bang is an old Cher song also done by Nancy Sinatra. It was featured prominently in Kill Bill 1. The second one is a cover of an old Flaming Groovies songs called Heading for the Texas Border. The third is an original slow blues that rivals anything Zep did, especially Since I’ve Been Loving You. Lastly is a song featuring other guitarist Brendan Benson called Many Shades of Black. Every single one of them is hot, hot, hot.
You guys who don’t think there’s worthwhile music being made today need to take a good hard listen. These guys will give you hope.
BTW, I’ve never posted more than one clip as an introduction . I just kept finding songs that needed to be heard.

BM- I know yours is Kings of Leon. I have listened to them a little bit. They're getting good press and seem to be on the rise. There is a good article on them in the latest RS. Apparently they had a pretty strict fundamentalist upbringing with nutjob preacher for a dad
Roosty- I'll check yours out when I get home. You know this thing doesn't really get cooking until beer thirty.
Ilike that Kings of Leon
it's pretty spare, moody type stuff
The music I posted was the best. Recognize

it cracks me up when people say they can't stand pearl jam and love STP
IN fairness...they really changed their sound after a few albums and were a good respectable band.
Not near as blatant as Creed or Bush.
