Paint

Where can I get paint for older dirtbikes? I got an 82 CR480 that I would like to paint but I'm having trouble finding what I want. Is the 88-89 CR red a close match for the 82? I believe the color is called tahition red or something like that was on the 82. Any help would be appreciated.

vmxracing.com has custom blended "Tahitian Red" Honda paint.
vintagedirtbikeforums.com is a great site with a bunch of 480 info. just click on "cr, mr & mt " And check out this shot from a guy posting photos of his trick 1979 cr250 restoration. He is using a custom matched powder coating that is the same color as your 480.

I can get you a paint formula number in BASF and Glasurit that will be an exact match to the new plastic fenders and side panels available from the VMXRacing website. You are planning on painting this with spray equipment, not aerosols right?

Thanks for all the help and sites, I was needing help with resources for this bike. I painted a YZ490 out of a paint can and it was a big mistake. If I look at it wrong it gets a scratch. I've never used spray equipment before but have access to it. Is the spray equipment hard to mess with? Is the PJ1 from a can any good? Anybody use thier 4 step process? Thanks again for the responses.
