Isn't Franken a Harvard grad? I think they ( a number of SNL alumn) wrote for the Harvard Lampoon which turned into the National Lampoon and SNL, kind of. I just remembering getting the National Lampoon and it was absolute cutting edge humor in the early 70s . I know Michael Odonohue (sp) was a writer for both NL and SNL. Not sure if he went to Harvard. He had a tweaked sense of humor.
