belief in a creator is based upon the same physical observations....the belief in evolution sprang up as the only viable belief because of those who do not want accept what they see and dont want the responsibilty that goes along with having a creator....no creator! well it has to be this, there is nothing else!
life exists and it takes 2 people to make a baby......no way that process evolved![/quote:19likzhn]
Actually, belief in the gods was based upon simple observation that resulted in flawed conclusion supported with no critical analysis. Belief in science is based upon observation and verification of the theories arrived at through repeated testing. Two entirely different animals. Your last statement is perfect proof of this. Your statement about evolution is nonsense.[/quote:19likzhn]
god has no beginning and no end just like the universe....now show how science has proved that there is a beginning and an end to the universe
now give a working way/proof/observation and verification of the theories that science has proved that that could have happened through evolution
i will help you out.....there is none![/quote:1idl4rje]

Anyone who has Faith or Hope in some way admits the presence of a supreme being.[/quote:3uv9dw86]
Thats a pretty easy thing to say for a person who believes in a supreme being. I wish it were so easy.
I've tried multiple times to get some sort of spiritual anything in my life. Just doesnt seem to work. It never did.
The worst part for me is when a close friend or family member dies. I just cant accept the presence of any afterlife whatsoever. Most people console themselves with the thought that everybody will be back together at some point or another. That doesnt work for me. When this happens, it usually destroys me for a good couple months - nothing I can think of fixes that for me. With a close family member of mine in the hospital for the past 2 months, and no cure for anything in sight - this looks to be quite a dismal spring for me.[/quote:3uv9dw86]
sorry to hear about your situation, I'll keep a good thought for you
Call it blind faith. but I feel there has to be something other than this earth. I also struggle when it comes to sustaining anything spiritual, but I keep trying and in the meantime try to treat people the way I'd want to be treated
Way to go- you're both The Smartest, Most Philosopical Guy on the Internet. That's right, both of you.
Faith does not really answer a lot of questions for me. It probably creates just as many as it may answer but i guess it gives me a reason to keep on keeping on with the hope that someday I will understand more.
The problem with Christianity is not that it has been tried and found wanting; your problem is that it has been found difficult and left untried.
Reflections,
peace,
no i am not counting the 3.5 minutes i spend in here spewing....but i cant shut up about something i think i know, no more than anyone else can shut up about what they think they know!

Yep its important to find your own answers from the Bible. Not what someone else tells you the answers are.

Not accurate. I've tried it, and the only thing I find difficult to understand is the irrationality of the Christian.
You never answered my PM, Ger. You know where it was going, don't you? Just pointing out more of religious irrationality.
your partially correct butch!
(acts 17:11) Now the latter were more noble-minded than those in Thes·sa·lo·ni′ca, for they received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.

Later I discovered that my inbox, outbox etc were all full. Olger gets a lot of mail, questions & whatnot.

i agree anyone who opens the bible on their own is lost
romans 10:14 However, how will they call on him in whom they have not put faith? How, in turn, will they put faith in him of whom they have not heard? How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach?

Especially if they believe what they read.
